The Murcia Corvera – Mojácar Route

Región de Murcia International Airport — everyone calls it Corvera, code RMU — sits about 130 km north of Mojácar. The transfer runs down the A-7 motorway past Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras and takes roughly an hour and a half door to door.

For many travellers this is the best compromise of the three airports: noticeably more UK and Irish routes than Almería, and a much shorter drive than Alicante. Corvera is also a new, modern, single-terminal airport, which makes arrivals quick and painless.

Corvera, Not San Javier

Worth knowing if you haven't flown here in a few years: Corvera (RMU) replaced the old San Javier airport (MJV) for commercial flights back in 2019. All Murcia commercial traffic now uses Corvera, so if your booking says "Murcia", that's where you're landing. We cover it every day.
